Travel Basque Country collaborates with an association of local sidra growers, restaurants, cultural groups and the city of Astigarraga who promote locally produced sidra

Enjoy a guided walking tour to learn about the history of Astigarraga and neighboring towns. Connected by a rich history of cider and apple cultivation, the picturesque green landscapes are filled with apple orchards, traditional farm houses and tranquil farms.

Along the tour you will pass eight stops along the route to learn about the local farming culture. A professional guide will explain the history of sidra in the Basque Country, from its close ties to the sea to traditional production methods and modern day economy.

The route is also connected with the Camino de Santiago or Way of Saint James coastal route, a historic pilgrammage across Spain.
